The college was founded in 1949 but its present location did not open until 1957. The John and Jean Knox Performing Arts Center opened in 1980. 

Since then, many theatre productions have taken place in the main stage by either the Drama Department or other college groups, however, no clear records of performance truly exist.

In 2014 a new chair was appointed and since then, productions have been consistent and have been carefully recorded. Below is that history.
