If you are cast, you must register for Drama 220 for 1 unit.
Current High School students can enroll concurrently for $7 through Concurrent Enrollment.
Not a student? Members of the Community cast in productions can register for our Community Engagement course for FREE.

Audition Instructions

Sign up for a 30 minute time slot on the Audition Sign Up page

Fill out the Audition Form (We'll also have forms available in person too.)

Please look over the proposed rehearsal schedule below and list any conflicts on your audition form.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides are available here, and hard copies will be available at auditions. It is recommended to pick a single character side and a two character side to read at auditions.

The director is also asking for a few bars of acapella singing, if you're a singer.

Content Warning: Even though it is comedic, Dog Sees God engages mature topics and explicit language surrounding suicide, bullying, eating disorders, loss, sexuality, substance abuse, and homophobia. Character Descriptions

CB: Male-presenting. The main character of the play. Intelligent, introspective, and depressed, questioning everything in his life including the afterlife, his social status, and his sexuality.

Beethoven: Male-presenting. Quiet, lonely, recluse. School outcast and target of Matt’s homophobic bullying who takes solace in his piano. Becomes romantically involved with CB

CB’s Sister: Female-presenting. Strong-willed, opinionated, loud. Changes her persona and philosophy on life often

Van: Male-presenting. Cliched pothead, with a worldview to match, constantly pursuing CB’s SISTER

Matt: Male-presenting. A jock, pathological germaphobe, sex-obsessed, homophobic, and the school bully. He is also CB’s best friend.

Tricia: Female-presenting. Rude, loud, obnoxious. A party girl who thinks she is both pretty and popular.

Marcy: Female-presenting. Equally rude and obnoxious. A party girl and Tricia’s sidekick.

Van’s Sister: Female-presenting. Has been institutionalized for setting the Little Red-Haired Girl’s hair on fire. Sarcastic, filter-less, and frank.

Auditions for An Evening of Theatre and Dance will take place at the top of the Spring 26 semester.
